Family Nurse Practitioner

POSITION - Family Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (Military Health System experience a plus; current OPM clearance highly desirable!)

SITE:  Westover Medical Home Clinic, supported by Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas

KELFAS Services, an experienced, 8(a) certified minority-woman owned small business specializing in health care staffing and management.  We are headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, and have a contract with the Department of the Army for a FNP-C at its Westover Medical Home Clinic, 10010 Rogers Crossing, Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78251. 

The Westover Clinic provides Primary Care services for an enrolled population of 8,000. Currently, there are 3 physicians and 3 Family Nurse Practitioners on staff, from 7:30 am-4:30 pm, Mon, Thurs, and Friday and from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm on Tues, Wed, with the Clinic currently closed on weekends and Federal Holidays. In addition to primary care services, the clinic also has a pharmacy, laboratory and case management services available for its enrolled patients. The Westover Medical Home is supported by the Dept of Family and Community Medicine, Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) at Joint Base San Antonio, located on Fort Sam Houston, TX

Minimum qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Current, valid and unrestricted license to practice as a from any US jurisdiction
• Minimum of 1 year’s FT experience within the past 3 years providing services as a practicing NP
• Graduate of an accredited advanced practice program and subsequent certification in Family Medicine by the ANCC or AANP
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) 
• No record of adverse disciplinary action
• Must have sufficient experience to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries, perform medical procedures (incl, as needed, military medical exams) and miscellaneous related medical advice, consults, EMR documentation
• Working familiarity with computers, especially Microsoft programs
• BCLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• Able to read, write and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients, fellow providers
• Meet annual licensure CME requirements
• Be eligible, apply for and receive Gov’t security clearance
• Meet all Gov’t credentialing, privileging and health and immunization requirements (incl annual influenza immunization)
